Choosing a bundle structure

What each bundle structure looks like to shoppers, what the preset tiles set up for you in one click, and what happens if you switch structures partway through.

The Bundle structure card

Before you add any products, you choose a structure — the underlying shape of your bundle. Every bundle has exactly one, set either by clicking a preset tile or by picking a radio button on this card. This card appears on every bundle except one already saved with the legacy Buy-X-Get-Y ("BOGO") structure, where it isn't rendered at all. If you try to save a bundle with no structure chosen, you'll see "Choose a preset or build your own bundle."

The structure decides the whole shape of what shoppers see: a fixed list of items, swappable groups they can choose within, or a quantity-tier picker.

Product bundle

"Combo of different products with discount" is an umbrella over two real layouts, not a layout of its own. Picking it selects whichever of Separate products or Product groups you used last in this editing session — or Separate products, the first time. On its own it doesn't change what shoppers see; the actual layout comes from the Separate products / Product groups radio underneath it.

Separate products

Separate products gives one fixed slot per product you add. The shopper cannot exchange a slot's product for another one. They see a flat list of exactly the products you added, each with its own variant selector when that product has more than one variant.

Product groups

Product groups is a layout where one slot can hold several products, or a whole collection, and the shopper picks one of them. Shoppers see a "Change product" control (a Selector, a Modal, or a full List, depending on the Mix & Match template you choose) on any group holding more than one product or a collection.

Product groups is available on every plan under current pricing — Free, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 and Enterprise — with no restriction. It's only withheld on legacy plan generations (Growth, Growth+, an older Basic tier, or Free on an older legacy plan), where the radio is greyed out and carries a "Pro" badge. If a bundle was already built as Product groups on one of those legacy plans, it keeps that layout regardless — the radio just shows checked and disabled.

Volume discount

"Discount based on the quantity of a single product" replaces the product-list widget with a list of quantity tiers for one product — shoppers see something like "1 item / 2 items / 3 items" instead of a product list.

Volume discount is available while you're creating a new bundle, and on an already-saved bundle only while that bundle is Widget-only (doesn't create its own Shopify product). If a saved bundle already creates a Shopify product, Volume discount won't be offered as an option, because the bundle's type is locked after the first save — duplicate the bundle and choose Widget-only on the copy if you need Volume discount.

Preset tiles

Below the two radio cards, the app shows four preset tiles when you're creating a bundle, with a "View more" link revealing ten more (14 in total). Clicking a preset replaces every offer setting with that preset's full configuration, so pick your preset first and adjust it afterward rather than the other way round. Presets only appear while you're creating a bundle.

What happens when you switch structures

Switching between Separate products and Product groups rebuilds the product list and resets the Mix & Match template and the optional-products display mode. Everything else — your discount, quantities, Uncombined quantity setting, minimums/maximums, dates and bundle type — is kept. Product groups starts fresh with 2 empty groups when you switch into it. If you switch back to the layout you started with in the same editing session, your original product list is restored; reload the page and that snapshot is gone for good, so plan structure changes before you reload.

Switching to Volume discount replaces every offer setting with the Volume discount defaults: 3 tiers at 1 item / 0%, 2 items / 10%, 3 items / 20%, Uncombined quantity on, and a percentage discount. Switching back restores your previous settings only if you haven't reloaded the page in between.
