Advanced settings for your bundle

Every control on the Advanced settings card, and which ones your bundle's structure shows.

Written by Andrey Gadashevich

The Advanced settings card lives on the Advanced tab of the bundle form.

Separate products and BOGO show the base set of controls below. Product groups adds the product-selection-source setting. Volume discount adds Price display, "Hide 'Add to Cart' button, option and quantity selection," Product variant selection (each item / once), and Auto-add free gift to cart — and drops Bundle priority. "Enable integration with subscription apps" doesn't appear for Shopify bundles. "Add new product variants to product bundle automatically" only appears on widget-only bundles built from individual products.

Display discount to customers from Compare-at price

Available on every bundle structure, always. Tick this when your products carry a compare-at price and you want the saving shoppers see measured against that higher compare-at price — the discount itself is still calculated from the product's actual price.

Shoppers see a larger stated saving, measured from the compare-at price.

Price display

On Volume discount bundles only. Choose whether each volume-discount offer shows the total price, the price per item, or both.

Shoppers see "Total price," "Price per item," or both figures on every tier.

Product variant selection (Volume discount)

On Volume discount bundles only. Choose "Select variant for each item" to make the shopper pick a variant for every unit — for a T-shirt × 3, that's one choice per shirt — or "Select once for the entire bundle" to apply a single variant choice to the whole bundle.

Shoppers see one variant selector per unit, or one for the whole offer.

Product variant selection (Product groups)

On Product groups bundles only. Choose which product a group shows pre-selected in the widget: "The product from the current product page the customer is viewing" (which falls back to the first product in the group when that one is unavailable), or always "The first product in the group list."

This decides which product of the group is already chosen when the widget loads.

Pre-select the first available product variant in the widget

Available on every bundle structure, always. Leave this ticked for the widget to arrive with a variant already chosen for each item — your default variant if you've set one, otherwise the first available one. Untick it to force the shopper to choose a variant before the bundle can be added to the cart.

Shoppers see variants pre-selected, or empty selectors that must be filled before Add to cart works.

Add new product variants to product bundle automatically

Only appears on widget-only bundles whose items are individual products — collection and all-store bundles have no per-product variant rows to sync, and bundles with their own product are excluded.

Leave this ticked so that variants you create later, on a product that was added with all its variants, are added to this bundle automatically. Untick it to freeze the bundle's variant list as it is today.

Enable integration with subscription apps

On widget-only and Physical bundles, of any structure; it's removed for Shopify bundles. Tick this when the bundle's products are sold on a subscription or selling plan, so the widget passes the selling plan through to the cart. The RecurrinGO banner shown alongside it is only a promotion, and can be dismissed.

This checkbox is greyed out on the non-primary variant of a running A/B test.

Enable custom property field

Available on every bundle structure, always. Tick this to add a free-text input to the widget that collects extra information from the shopper. The value travels with the bundle as a line-item property on Physical bundles and as a cart attribute on Shopify bundles, and shows on the order.

Shoppers see an extra input inside the widget.

Once ticked, three more fields appear:

  • Field title — this is both the label the shopper sees and the property name printed on the order, so write it exactly as it should read on the order. Square brackets and quotes are stripped automatically. The placeholder suggests " e.g., Your pet's name".

  • Field help text — the hint shown under the input. Leaving it empty means no hint is shown.

  • Make the field required — tick this to block Add to cart until the shopper has filled the custom field in.

Hide "Add to Cart" button, option and quantity selection

On Volume discount bundles only. Tick this to hide the theme's own Add to cart button, variant options, and quantity picker on the product pages of the bundle's items, so the widget is the only way to buy. Check those pages afterward — the app has to remove theme elements to do this.

Shoppers see the theme's buy form replaced by the widget on those product pages.

Auto-add free gift to cart

On Volume discount bundles only. Tick this so that when a shopper's cart reaches a tier that earns a free gift, the gift is added automatically. With it unticked, the gift is only offered, not added automatically. Either way, an orphaned gift line is removed from the cart if the cart no longer qualifies.

Shoppers see the gift appearing in the cart by itself when the tier is reached.

Exclude B2B customers

Available on every bundle structure, always. Tick "Exclude B2B customers" to hide this bundle from shoppers signed in to a company account. See "Controlling who sees your bundle: publishing, markets and B2B customers" for exactly what a B2B shopper loses.

This checkbox is greyed out on the non-primary variant of a running A/B test.

Bundle priority

On Separate products, Product groups and BOGO bundles (Volume discount bundles don't have this setting). Give a bundle a higher Bundle priority number to make it win over other bundles competing for the same product page. A bundle whose own product is the page being viewed always comes first, regardless of its priority number.

Shoppers see the order in which competing bundles are shown, and the order the automatic discount considers them in.

This field is greyed out on the non-primary variant of a running A/B test.

Fields locked while an A/B test is running

While an A/B test is running on a bundle, several fields become read-only on the non-primary (B) variant — they can only be changed on the primary (A) variant. This includes: the bundle's internal name, the active period, the countdown timer, Markets, the whole Widget placement card, "Enable integration with subscription apps," "Exclude B2B customers," and Bundle priority.

If you need to change any of these on a bundle that's being A/B tested, end the test or choose a winner first.
