Option Title
Shown at the top of the Discount options card, always, on a Volume discount bundle.
Option Title decides whether each option is labelled automatically from the product name and quantity, or from a Title you type — choosing "Custom title" adds a Title box inside every option.
Add option / Add tier
Always available, below the existing options or tiers.
A new option starts one item above your highest existing option, is titled "{n} items", and carries no discount until you add one.
The bin icon on an option only appears once more than one option exists. Deleting the pre-selected option moves the pre-selection to the first remaining one.
Required items
Present in every option and every tier.
Required items is how many units the shopper must take for that option, and each option must ask for more items than the one before it.
Validation: minimum 1, and strictly greater than every earlier option — "Must be at least 1+ more than previous option", shown as you type and blocking save.
Add: (the add-on chip row)
Shown inside an option while it's still missing at least one add-on.
The "Add:" row lists the extra fields this option doesn't have yet. Clicking one adds it; unticking it later hides the field but keeps what you typed, so re-adding it restores your text.
Which add-ons exist where: Discount and Description are available in both Volume discount options and Tiered discount tiers. Label, Badge and Free gift are Volume discount options only. Only Required items — and Title, when Option Title is "Custom title" — is always present, on both.
Discount value / Discount type
Shown inside an option once you click "Discount" in the Add: row.
Each option prices itself independently:
In a Volume discount option, you can pick Percentage, Sale price or Amount off.
In a Tiered discount tier, the type is always Percentage — this is by design, not a limit tied to how many products are in the bundle. If you need Sale price or Amount off on a per-tier basis, use the Volume discount structure instead, where every option offers all three no matter how many products the bundle holds.
Validation:
Once one option carries a discount, every later option must carry one too — "Option must have discount enabled when previous options have discounts".
Values must improve down the list, shown as you type:
"Discount value must be greater than the previous option with the same discount type"
"Discount value must be less than the next option with the same discount type"
"Sale price must be less than the previous option with the same discount type"
"Sale price must be greater than the next option with the same discount type"
What the shopper sees: with Sale price, the number you type is the price of the whole option — the app divides it by Required items to get the per-unit price it displays and compares.
Description
Available in both Volume discount options and Tiered discount tiers, once added from the Add: row.
Description is an optional line of text shown with the option, up to 64 characters, with a live counter. It can be translated per language. The placeholder is "MOST POPULAR OFFER".
Label
Volume discount structure only, once added from the Add: row.
Label is an optional badge-style caption on the option, up to 40 characters, translatable, with the placeholder "Save {{value}}".
Badge
Volume discount structure only, once added from the Add: row.
Badge is an optional highlight tag on the option, up to 24 characters, translatable, with the placeholder "MOST POPULAR".
Free gift (option add-on)
Volume discount structure only.
The Free gift add-on attaches gift groups to that one option, so the gift is given only when the shopper picks that quantity. Adding it seeds one empty gift group; removing it keeps groups that already hold products while clearing the empty ones.
Validation: "Add at least one free gift group" when the option has none, and "Add at least one product to the free gift group" when a group is empty — both block saving.
Free gift {index} (gift group)
Shown inside an option, under the Free gift add-on, once that add-on is turned on for that option.
One gift group means the shopper gets that gift with that quantity. Several products inside one group means the shopper picks one of them. Several groups mean one gift from each group. Each group's controls are "Add products", a "Pre-selected gift" checkbox, a shared "Item quantity" that new gifts inherit, and "Add free gift" for another group. The delete icon and drag handle only appear once the option has more than one gift group.
Validation: "Add at least one product to the free gift group".
Title (per option)
Shown once Option Title is set to "Custom title".
This is where you type that option's own label, and it's translatable.
Pre-selected default option
Volume discount structure only — it isn't offered on a Tiered discount.
This marks the option the widget opens on. Only one option can carry it; ticking it on one option clears it everywhere else, and deleting that option moves the tick to the first remaining one.
Validation: none — a bundle with no pre-selected option saves fine. A new Volume discount bundle pre-selects its first option ("1 item").
Add discount (legacy tier layout)
On Tiered discount tiers that use the older layout.
Instead of the "Add:" chip row, a Tiered discount tier on the legacy layout uses a single "Add discount" checkbox, puts Description and Required items side by side, shows the discount type before the value, and offers no Label, Badge, Free gift or pre-selected tier.
What a customer pays between two tiers
A quantity that lands between two tiers always gets the highest tier it has reached, applied to the whole quantity. Nothing is left undiscounted, and the tier is never treated as an exact match the customer has to hit.
Worked example — tiers at 50, 100 and 150 pieces, unit price $10, customer buys 120:
Tier type | How it's set | What the 120-piece cart is charged |
Percentage — 50=10%, 100=20%, 150=30% | 20% at the 100 tier | 20% off all 120 units → $960 |
Amount off — "$250 off at 100 pieces" | scaled to the real quantity | $250 × 120/100 = $300 off → $900 |
Sale price — "$750 total for 100 pieces" | scaled to the real quantity | target $750 × 120/100 = $900 → $900 |
The two things merchants get wrong: the 150 tier does not apply (120 never reached it), and the 100 tier does not stop at 100 units with the last 20 at full price. For Amount off and Sale price, note that the figure you type is the amount or the total for that tier's quantity, and it is scaled proportionally when the customer buys more.
How your bundle's discount combines with your own Shopify discounts
Product discounts / Order discounts / Shipping discounts / Subscription discounts
Found in Settings → App settings → Combinations discounts card, always.
These four toggles control which of Shopify's own discount kinds the bundle discount is allowed to combine with, store-wide — they don't change any individual bundle's discount.
Note: the Subscription discounts toggle shows a warning while it's on — "It is not permitted to use the shop without subscribing".
Discount prefix
Found in Settings → App settings, on shops that don't run on Shopify Functions.
Discount prefix is the text the app puts at the front of the discount codes it creates for your bundles. Clearing the box restores "BUNDLE" once the field loses focus.
Display discount to customers from Compare-at price
Found in Advanced tab → Advanced settings card, on every structure.
Tick this to have the widget present the saving against the product's Compare-at price, while the discount itself is still calculated from the selling price.
Price display
Found in Advanced tab → Advanced settings card, on a Volume discount bundle.
Price display chooses whether each Volume-discount option shows its total, its per-item price, or both.
Auto-add free gift to cart
Found in Advanced tab → Advanced settings card, on a Volume discount bundle.
With this on, the free gift is added automatically when the shopper assembles the bundle in the cart.
