The selling plan goes on the products in the bundle, not on the bundle. MBC Bundles has no subscription engine of its own — Appstle creates the plans, and MBC Bundles passes the shopper's choice of plan through to the cart.
You do not need a bundle that generates its own Shopify product for this. The subscription checkbox is available on widget-only bundles too, and those never create a product.
Appstle Subscriptions is a Shopify subscription app that lets merchants sell products on a recurring "subscribe & save" basis by creating subscription plans with billing intervals, discounts and rules. It manages subscription orders and gives customers a self-serve portal.

Before you start
MBC Bundles and Appstle Subscriptions both installed on your store.
Setting it up
Three things have to be true. Missing any one of them means no subscription option on the storefront.
1. Put an Appstle plan on the products
In Appstle Subscriptions, go to Subscription Plans, create a new plan or edit an existing one, add the products you are going to bundle, and save the plan.
Add the component products, not a bundle product. Billing intervals and any subscriber discount belong to this plan — there is nothing to configure for them in MBC Bundles.
2. Tick the checkbox on the bundle
Open the bundle, go to the Advanced tab, and tick Enable integration with subscription apps in the Advanced settings card.
The checkbox appears on widget-only and Physical bundles of every structure. It is removed on Shopify-type bundles — if you cannot find it, check the bundle's type first. It is also greyed out on the non-primary variant of a running A/B test.
3. Turn on Subscription discounts
Go to Settings → App settings → Combinations discounts and turn on Subscription discounts, so your bundle discount is allowed to combine with Shopify's subscription discounts. This is a requirement, not an optional extra. See "General settings."
While this toggle is on it shows the warning "It is not permitted to use the shop without subscribing". That is informational only.
The one configuration that will not work
A selling plan attaches to a cart line, so the bundle's items have to reach the cart as separate lines for a subscription selector to be shown at all.
A Physical bundle set to check out as one combined item shows no selector even with the checkbox ticked and the plan in place, because there is only one line in the cart for the whole bundle. If that is your setup, use a bundle whose items arrive in the cart separately.
