Learn how to set up subscription bundles

Written by Andrey Gadashevich

Selling a bundle as a subscription lets customers receive it — and its discount — on a recurring schedule. It turns a one-time purchase into repeat revenue and is a powerful way to grow customer lifetime value for consumables, refills, and curated sets.

Best for: consumables (coffee, supplements, skincare), refill packs, and "box" style curated bundles.

Before you start

Subscription bundles work together with a subscription app that provides selling plans on your products (for example, a Shopify-compatible subscriptions app). Make sure:

  • A subscription app is installed on your store, and

  • The products you want to bundle have a subscription selling plan attached.

How to enable subscription discounts

  1. In MBC Bundles, go to Settings.

  2. Turn on Allow subscription discounts with bundles. [Screenshot: Settings toggle for subscription discounts]

  3. Click Save.

How to create the bundle

  1. On your dashboard, click Create new bundle and give it a descriptive name.

  2. Add products that have a subscription selling plan.

  3. Set your bundle discount as usual.

  4. Save and Publish.

On the storefront, customers can now choose the subscription option, and the bundle discount applies to the recurring order.

Tips

  • Confirm the discount behavior (how the bundle discount stacks with any subscription discount) on a test order before promoting the offer.

  • Not every bundle type supports subscriptions — start with a Classic or Separate products bundle.
